AAP Pollworker Position Descriptions

Clerk - $250:

The Clerk is responsible for coordinating all activities, which comprise an error free election. He/she must attend poll worker training class, pick up election supplies prior to election day, make prior arrangements to get into the polling place on election day, organize and direct the election board, deal effectively with voters, and oversee the entire operation of the polling place on election day. Clerk is also responsible for ballot accounting, securing results and returning the precinct supplies to the designated collection site at the end of the Election Day.

Touchscreen Tech - $175:

Touchscreen Tech is responsible for the new Touchscreen voting machine, and provides assistance for the disabled.

Poll Deputy - $150:

Poll Deputy greets voters and maintains order at the polling place on Election Day. He/she is cleared and deputized by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and is responsible to the Supervisor of Elections.

PR/PL Inspectors - $150:

PR/PL Inspector verifies that only legally registered voters in a given precinct are allowed to receive a ballot.

Ballot Issuer - $150:

Ballot Issuer issues ballots to voters who are qualified registered voters and verified by the PR/PL Inspector.

Tabulator Inspector - $150:

Tabulator Inspector instruct voters on the proper procedure for placing the voted ballot into the tabulator.

Internet Oath Person (I.O.P) - $220:

There is one I.O.P in each precinct recruited through the Orange County volunteer intern coordinator, not part of the elections office. IOP processes those potential voters who are sent to them by the PR/PL Inspector to verify questions regarding the voter’s record.
