PPP and Municipal Elections

Results verification and canvassing of provisional ballots

Present were: County Judge Mike Murphy, Chair; County Commissioner Tiffany Moore Russell; Supervisor of Elections Bill Cowles; Ed Chew, Asst. Orange County Attorney; Woody Rodriguez; Counsel for the SOE; County Judge Steve Jewett, Alternate Canvass Board Member; Margaret Dunn, Recording Secretary; Monica Ijeoma, Recording Secretary and members of the public.

The meeting was called to order at 3:23 p.m.  Introductions were made.  The chairman and board members reviewed the legal ad.

Bill Cowles began by explaining the purpose of the meeting was to approve the results and to canvass provisional ballots.  He went on to explain the procedure for results verification and the law as it pertains to provisional ballots.

The board canvassed the precinct-by-precinct results and the provisional ballots.

The Canvassing Board approved the post tabulation L&A, then recessed for an hour.

The Board reconvened at 7:05 p. m. to sign the unofficial results for the PPP, Amendment 1 and the official results for the cities. 

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:15.
