QUALIFYING COUNTY JUDGE CANDIDATES

Primary Election – Tuesday, August 26, 2008

General Election – Tuesday, November 4, 2008

 

Petition Process: County Judges –

After Appointment of Campaign Treasurer and Designation of Campaign Depository has been filed  - First day to begin collecting petitions, a DS/DE 9 must be on file.  (Florida Statute 99.095 (2)(a))

March 31st, NOON – Last date to submit petitions to local Supervisor of Elections for verification, “28th day preceding the first day of the qualifying period for the office sought . . “ (Florida Statute 99.095 (3))

April 21st – Petitions must be certified by this date, “7th day before the first day of the qualifying period for the office sought . . “ (Florida Statute 99.095 (3))

April 28th, NOON through May 2nd, NOON - Candidate Qualifies with Supervisor of Elections office. Copy of Petition Certification along with all other qualifying documents to be filed. (No qualifying fee is required).

As of Book Closing for the November 2006 General Election -

Countywide total registered voters 569,145, 1% = 5691 signatures required.
