In addition to our main office at 119 West Kaley Street in
Orlando, there are many places to register including any Driver's License
office, public library, and most post offices. You can also register to vote by
mail, but with certain restrictions listed below.
If you are registering to vote by mail, and you have never voted in Florida, and
you have not been issued a Florida driver's license, Florida identification
card, or Social Security number (SS#), you will be required to provide
additional identification prior to voting for the first time.
To ensure that you will not have problems when you go to vote, you should
provide a copy of the required identification listed below at the time you mail
your voter registration application.
You must provide a copy of one of the following photo identifications (ID) that
includes your name and picture if you are a first time Florida voter who is
registering to vote by mail and have not been issued a FL DL#, FL ID Card# or
SS#:
Or as an alternative to the items above, you may provide a
copy of one of the following documents that contains your name and current
residence if you have never voted in Florida and are registering to vote by mail
and have not been issued a FL DL#, FL ID Card# or SS#:
There are persons who are exempt from having to provide a
copy of an ID when registering to vote by mail (if the registrant has never
voted in Florida and has not been issued a FL driver's license, a Florida
Identification card or a social security number). These exemptions are:
Persons 65 years of age or older
Persons with a temporary or permanent physical disability
Members of the active uniformed service or merchant marine who, by reason of
such active duty, are absent from the county
Spouse or dependent of an active uniformed service member or merchant marine
who, by reason of the active duty or service of the member, is absent from the
county
Persons currently residing outside the U.S. who are eligible to vote in Florida
